Calffeine?!

A little jolt of caffeine (Michael thinks Mountain Dew is the best option๐Ÿ˜…) could be what your calves need to survive these harsh winters ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ˜„

The first 24-72 hours of life for calves is crucial to their survival. Getting that first milk filled with nutritional benefits, colostrum, is a large part of kicking starting their life off right. However, if something in their breathing looks off, its been found that supplementing with caffeine can improve vigor.

This makes sense because if the animal is struggling to breathe, it makes it more difficult to absorb colostrum and of course, simply move.

Next time you see a calf that may look like itโ€™s not thriving, crack open a Mt. Dew and see how they react!
