Look Up.
Right before 2022 ended, I picked up the book, “The Stories We Tell,” by @joannagaines .
Besides the fact that I enjoy everything about Magnolia, Fixer Upper, etc. i have found myself relating a lot to what Jo is sharing throughout the pages written. I turned 30 this past year and ever since then I have been thinking a lot about pace. The pace of my life and can I keep up with it?
I’m a natural “work till it’s done” gal.
I make lists.
I’m disciplined.
I pick up what others don’t finish.
I do—it’s how I’m hard wired. In fact you will rarely see me holding still. I move at a fast pace. (Which I know sweet Michael struggles to keep up with sometimes )
Jo shared similar feelings relating to pace which is why I resonated so much with these two words she shared:
—Look Up—
I’m grateful for how God has designed me. I’m grateful that each of us is uniquely skilled and pulled to different interests, and I’m grateful for all the plates that I get to work to balance every day.
This year though, I want to ‘look up.’ I want to still be the disciplined person that I am, but intentionally find stillness in the moment—be where my feet are.
I pray that as each of us enter a new year that we would remember to intentionally look up and to be where our feet are
